Wow! Is this really an ad at a subway station, posted for all to see? Sex is in your face at every turn. Billboards, TV advertisements, magazines, etc. Why do we even question the high statistics of single moms, teen sex, and drug use at an early age? By allowing these ads, we are creating an environment for them to think this type of behavior is acceptable and appropriate. As a mother of a pre-teen aged daughter, I’m living this life right now! There is no way that I am able to keep her from seeing these advertisements , so I’m busy working overtime at home helping her understand the right path and how to process what she is seeing.
How can we lower our negative statistics in this country if we don’t stop feeding them the very information that we are complaining about? In regards to the ad listed above, let’s be clear about one thing – there is nothing wrong with being a virgin! I remember hearing stories from my grandparents that it was respectful and classy if you were still a virgin. Now, did this mean there still weren’t people out there who criticized them for still holding their V card, of course not! But I don’t think there were billboards out there with a phone number for people to call to lose their virginity. The times we live in have changed, yes! But why are we supporting an ad like this?
